30th Annual Golf Outing to be held September 2!
This year we have decided again to hold our tournament at Lake of Isles at Foxwoods Casino Resort. We have had great success over the last few years and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. This has made our decision for one more year at this premiere golf resort an easy choice. This event is a major fundraising opportunity each year to help our mission to promote the Metal Building Industry in New England and nationally.  The funds help provide education and training to our members for little or no cost.

Carolinas Chapter News

MBCEA Carolinas Summer Meeting was held July 15-18, 2021 at the Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Thursday night's opening banquet was a great way to start the weekend - music by Jasmine Commerce. Friday morning we had a short business meeting followed by two presentations:

Clifton Reasor of Roof Curb Systems spoke regarding "Building Technology: Drivers for Future Design" and Melissa Furman of Career Potential, LLC explored the topic “Leading for Today and Tomorrow”. On Saturday our golfers started the day at Palmetto Dunes while everyone else enjoyed some relaxing time at the beach and pool. Saturday evening's banquet included dinner, Building of the Year and Safety Awards presentations, Golf Awards, announcement of Scholarship recipients, and we ended the evening enjoying the sounds of Smokin' Hot.

On August 6, 2021, we had an OSHA Approved Fall Protection class at DWS Steel Structures office presented by Safety Tech consultant Bill Fletcher. Participants learned how to recognize the hazards of falling and the correct procedures to minimize those hazards. The instructor reviewed how to properly inspect the equipment (harnesses, lanyards, and PPE). We had a full class - limited to 30 participants.

We have an upcoming Continuing Education class for the NC General Contractors Licensing Board requirement taking place on September 22, 2021. For more information please visit our Carolinas Continuing Education webpage.
