President's Message,

New Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Available for MBCEA Members

MBCEA is pleased to share a valuable new resource and benefit now available to our members through a partnership with ABC Insurance Trust: a standalone Employee Assistance Program designed to support employees and their families when life’s challenges become difficult to manage alone.

In the June 2026 President’s Message, “Building a Stronger Jobsite: Why Mental Health Belongs in Every Safety Conversation,” MBCEA reminded members that mental health is not separate from jobsite safety—it is part of protecting crews, strengthening companies, and building an industry people want to stay in. That message encouraged employers to reduce stigma, train leaders to recognize warning signs, and clearly promote available support resources. MBCEA seeks to assist and help our members by offering this new EAP and help our members put that message into action.

This new EAP is available to all employees, even those who are not enrolled in a company health plan. It provides confidential 24/7 access to support by phone, chat, video, in person, and through a mobile app. Calls are answered by master’s-level mental health clinicians, helping employees connect quickly with professional guidance when they need it most.

Services include counseling and support for mental health, family concerns, substance use, and work-life challenges, along with financial counseling, legal consultations, wellness coaching, and everyday life resources. The program also includes crisis intervention and critical incident support for workplace emergencies, as well as training and resources for managers and supervisors.

Powered by TELUS Health, this affordable, construction-focused solution gives MBCEA members another way to care for their teams and strengthen their workplaces. The regular rate starting in 2027, is $3.50 per employee, per month, but a discounted rate of $3.05 per employee, per month is being offered through 12/31/26.

Learn More at the Upcoming Webinar

MBCEA members are encouraged to attend an informational webinar on October 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET to learn more about the program, eligibility, services, pricing, and how to bring this benefit to their employees. For companies looking to make mental health resources more visible, accessible, and trusted, this webinar is an important opportunity to learn how the EAP can support both employees and field leaders.
