President's Message - Nov '25

President's Message,

Time may have fallen back, but we’re leaning in and moving forward.

As the clocks rolled back this month, the holidays and last of the 2025 calendar pages, it’s tempting to slow down and settle in. But at MBCEA, we’re doing the opposite — leaning in, and charging forward with opportunities, insights, and innovations to strengthen our industry through education and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned member or newly engaged, November continues to be and December is packed with ways to get involved, stay informed, and make your mark.

Conference Sponsorship: Elevate Your Brand

Planning is well underway for the 2026 MBCEA conference and there are just a few sponsorship opportunities still open. This is your chance to showcase your company to metal building system professionals, decision-makers, and innovators. From keynote visibility (a name well known trusted and funny) to branded networking events, sponsors can gain premium exposure and meaningful engagement. Hope you didn’t wait, and you are making your plans for impact.

MBCEA Presents: November & December Lineup

Our “MBCEA Presents” webinar series continues to deliver high-value content. November features blue print reading (they are not all black and white…), while December wraps the year with a conversation about the rapidly heating trend of cold formed buildings. These sessions are free to all members and offer practical takeaways. Registration links are live and we have reserved a spot for you.

Hall of Fame Nominations Are Open

Know someone, or you are someone, who’s made a lasting impact on the metal building industry? Enter a nomination for the Metal Construction News Hall of Fame. This prestigious recognition honors individuals who’ve demonstrated excellence, leadership, and service, like the most recent inductee, our Sasha! Nominations close January 15, so take a moment to celebrate those who’ve shaped our field. Click here

AC478 Accreditation & Resources

For those maintaining AC478 accreditation, now’s the time to review your documentation and prepare for renewal. MBCEA offers resources and peer support to help you stay compliant and confident.

Not yet accredited? Our team can guide you through the process; it’s a powerful way to demonstrate quality and professionalism. We have committed to have 50 AC478 Members accredited by June 2026, and our goal is to be 100 strong by 2027.

These are not early New Year’s resolutions (like my only one cookie per day); these are our focus, and a commitment to our Building Manufacturer partners.

Chapter News: Local Momentum, National, well now North American Impact

Chapters across the US and Canada are closing the year with energy. There was another meeting of Ontario contractors, erectors and industry reps, and are progressing to be an official Canadian Chapter! The Carolinas Chapter hosted a successful scholarship golf outing, while the Northwest Chapter hosted a Clay Shoot and Luncheon to further bolster their membership! These local events build a community, share knowledge, and strengthen our national, now North American network. Check your chapter’s calendar and get involved. Your voice, your being active, matters.

Technical Corner: Flange Braces

Our Technical Committee continues to provide our members with tips and tricks in the field, things to pay attention to. This month’s Technical Corner (in this very newsletter – see below) focuses on flange braces — what to watch out for when attaching them with banded liner systems.

Moving Forward Together

The days may be shorter, but our momentum is growing. The evenings get darker sooner, but we are lighting the way to a stronger industry! MBCEA is here to support your success through education, recognition, standards, and community.

Lean in, stay curious, and let’s finish 2025 and reach new heights, together in 2026!

Be Safe, Be Great,

Robert Tiffin
