President's Message - Oct '22

President's Message,
If you are on this site and read our newsletter, you already know the wonderful array of benefits that come with membership. But I hate to assume, so I thought I would use this month’s message to make sure you are getting the full bang for your buck.
Marketing Opportunities: Members can advertise in our monthly e-newsletter, place your ad in our online member directory, place free crew sourcing and employment ads on the website. Members get high visibility placement in our searchable directory, which is used worldwide by companies seeking contractors and erectors. Last but not least, you can become a vendor or sponsor at our National Conference and Chapter meetings.
Quality Recognition: Gain immediate respect when talking to a prospective client, employee or partner with AC478. MBCEA provides free assistance and access to hundreds of templates and documents to help your firm achieve the coveted AC478, the only accreditation for metal building contractors and erectors. AC478 is the industry standard to recognize metal building system assemblers that are committed to excellence. It provides tangible proof that industry builders have the personnel, organization, experience, knowledge, management procedures and commitment to quality results.
Training and Education: Use your access code for free 24/7 online access the MBI Quality and Craftsmanship series; the same code gives you discounts to many other MBI offerings such as their new Temporary Bracing Guidelines. Chapters and National regularly offer in person training and online webinars.
The Members only area of the website has copies or links to supplier and manufacturer training, as well as in-house developed training from your fellow members, plus tool box talks, AC478 support documents, and so much more!
We have partnered with NCCER to develop a complete Metal Building Curriculum that will be presented in an exciting new format, geared to the way young people learn today. This multi-year, million-dollar investment in our industry’s future will have far-reaching benefits such as credibility and recognition for our trade and unique skills, while also strengthening our workforce development efforts.
Connections: MBCEA takes prides in our quality initiatives and training opportunities, but equally important is belonging to a group of people just like you; people that face the same challenges and are committed to the same ideals. Contractors and erectors committed to quality erections built safely and profitably. We foster strong connections because it’s not always what you know, but who you know.
Easily the best place to connect is at the MBCEA National Conference. Members get discounted pricing to this prestigious event which is heading to Nashville in May 2023. The Conference is co-located with MBMA and offers content geared to owners, project managers and even field personnel. Where else can you get Rigging & Crane Signal Person Training while also learning about Succession Planning and Business Valuations? See new products and meet with vendors in our Exhibit Hall, all while enjoying the sights and sounds of Nashville with a few hundred of your friends, colleagues, competitors, and vendors.
The sole mission of the MBCEA is to support the professional advancement of metal building contractors, erectors and the metal building industry. Since 1968, MBCEA has provided programs and services to help metal building contractors and erectors to be the best they can be. And we keep getting better!
I would like to remind you that we recently kicked off a membership drive contest for Industry Members. Every new Contractor member who joins the MBCEA and lists your name and company in the Lead Source field of the application earns you one point in the contest. The top three individuals who enlist the most members through March 31, 2023 will receive gift cards and recognition, for your brand too, during the opening session of the MBCEA Conference MBMA Spring Meeting in Nashville, May 2023.
