Fall Prevention
Did you see the title and immediately jump to expectations of an article about OSHA approved Fall Prevention, or Protection, and the many opinions woven through both?
Well, I hope the following does not disappoint, as it’s more of the play on the word Fall; as in Autumn, fall as in “behind the pack” and if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.
August marks a natural transition point as some say that summer is winding down, and history reads that many of us are gearing up for a busy fall season.
Did you have a good summer? Annual vacation, now memories, with crazy pictures that you scroll and scroll to find when a related story needs proof?
Did you get out to participate in any of the Chapter events, either your respective, or any other cause it sounded great? As I type this I am in Lee’s Summit, MO on the eve of the Midwest Chapter Annual Golf Outing. Did not know about it? Here is the link to the EVENTS page on our site, it’s like a calendar 😉 but better. www.mbcea.org/events/ Check it out; there are, and will continue to be chapter event postings. Check them, and feel free to register!
Last week, the Greater Ohio Chapter hosted their 9th Annual Golf Event at Bunker Hill Golf Club in Medina, OH. I am not sure who Orris or Vic knows, or if they have Mother Nature’s email, but the weather they host on their day is amazing. A great turnout, check out the post: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7359506306187108352
These events are open to MBCEA members, so don’t fall behind the pack, and miss the next opportunity to network with your industry peers, your industry suppliers, and the opportunity to support the fundraisers for scholarships.
If Fall brings back memories of going back to school, or even more recently getting your families back into school mode, how about taking on an educational challenge?
The most obvious is the AC478 Accreditation. Don’t know what that means? Please take this sentence as an invitation to log into our next conversation on September 17th. www.mbcea.org/events/ac478-roundtable-september-17 I would say all the cool kids are, but based on the homes.com superbowl ad, I am not allowed to say things like that. I can say that there are accredited members who can share successes they are realizing based on their declaration of being AC478.
If you have an hour, a laptop, and a lunch, log into any one of our MBCEA presents monthly FREE (as in inflation immune FREE) Webinars. The next one is on August 21 and is a BIM 101 Panel Presentation. Register Here, now, c’mon go ahead, I’ll wait.
Lastly, the power of standing for something goes deeper than the Aaron Tippin country song. Today, our association grew a bit more, albeit with a new member, an existing member enrolling in for AC478 accreditation, watching Chad Anderson stir a kettle at a shrimp/low country boil (thank you again Mar Building Solutions), to having one of my sales team honestly admit he reads my newsletter, to posting a question on the Forum section of the app. We grew because we stand, we work, we learn, we play together.
We are the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association, our fall prevention, our mission, as we have all agreed to choose to support the professional advancement of metal building contractors, erectors, and our industry.
Be Safe, Be Great,
