PROGRAM PURPOSE
The MBCEA Ontario Chapter Professional Development Scholarship supports employees and owners of current Chapter member companies who are taking a meaningful next step in their careers. Funding is intended for education, training or development that strengthens the applicant’s skills, knowledge, leadership or credentials and creates a practical benefit for their company and Ontario’s metal building industry. 
Applicants at every career stage and in every part of the industry are encouraged. This scholarship is not limited to management roles, post-secondary degrees or office-based positions.

WHO MAY APPLY
  • The applicant must be currently employed by, or be an owner of, an MBCEA Ontario Chapter member company in good standing at the application deadline.
  • The applicant must work in Ontario or directly support the member company’s Ontario metal building operations.
  • The proposed opportunity must support a clear career-development goal and provide a meaningful benefit to the applicant’s company, team or the broader metal building industry.
  • The opportunity should begin, continue or be completed within 12 months after the award is announced.

ELIGIBLE DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES 
Examples include college or university courses; apprenticeship and skilled-trades advancement; certifications and examinations; technical, safety, leadership or business training; conferences and workshops with a defined learning objective; and other career-development opportunities approved by the Scholarship Committee.

HOW APPLICATIONS WILL BE ASSESSED
Career direction
A clear, realistic next step and a strong connection between the opportunity and the applicant’s goals.
Industry benefit
A practical benefit to the applicant’s employer, coworkers, customers, safety, quality, productivity or the industry.
Application of learning
A credible plan to use and, where appropriate, share the knowledge or skills gained.

Evidence of initiative, contribution, leadership, mentorship, safety involvement or professional development.
