MBCEA held their 36 th annual conference in Las Vegas on September 16-18, 2004. The MBCEA conference hosted close to 200 attendees and 27 exhibitors. The exhibits represented all areas of the metal building industry including safety equipment, door companies, power tools, roofing materials, insulation, and fasteners, to name a few.

Keynote speaker, George Hedley, spoke about “Maximizing your Business in a Tough Economy.” Mr. Hedley had a clear understanding of the metal building industry and gave those in attendance knowledge and encouragement to face the economic problems we are facing today. Additional workshops were held on: Field Management, Safety, Modular Erection, and the Contractor and Erector Roundtable.

At the conference, Mary Farrar completed her two year term as MBCEA President. Mary will still serve on the MBCEA board as Past-President. Thank you for all your service and dedication, Mary!!!

Mary passed the gavel to the new MBCEA President, Ray Barbieri, RJB Contracting, Inc., Torrington, CT. Ray was sworn in at the conference’s Awards Banquet.
