MBCEA held their 36 th annual conference in Las Vegas on September 16-18, 2004. The MBCEA conference hosted close to 200 attendees and 27 exhibitors. The exhibits
represented all areas of the metal building industry including safety equipment, door
companies, power tools, roofing materials, insulation, and fasteners, to name a few.
Keynote speaker, George Hedley, spoke about “Maximizing your Business in a Tough
Economy.” Mr. Hedley had a clear understanding of the metal building industry and gave
those in attendance knowledge and encouragement to face the economic problems we are
facing today. Additional workshops were held on: Field Management, Safety, Modular
Erection, and the Contractor and Erector Roundtable.
At the conference, Mary Farrar completed her two year term as MBCEA President. Mary will
still serve on the MBCEA board as Past-President.

Mary passed the gavel to the new MBCEA President, Ray Barbieri, RJB Contracting, Inc.,
Torrington, CT. Ray was sworn in at the conference’s Awards Banquet.
Ray Randolph, long-time board member, was recognized for his many years of service and
dedication to MBCEA. He has served as an MBCEA Director, Officer, and President.
Thank you, Ray, for all the years of commitment to MBCEA and MBI.
The MBCEA Membership voted and elected Ron Dawson, Parkline,
Inc., Winfield, WV, as the newest MBCEA/MBI Board Member. Ron
was sworn in at the conference’s Awards Banquet. Welcome Ron!
