MBCEA MENTORING PROGRAM
In an effort to improve the chances of success for new contractor and erector companies, the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) is introducing a mentoring program for its members.
The program is designed to offer assistance for companies who have been in business less than three years. Mentors will be assigned to the young businesses for a two-year period, offering business advice and counsel via a variety of methods such as phone and e-mail.
MBCEA plans to carefully match the participating companies to eliminate competitive issues. For information on the new mentoring program, call 800-866-6722.
MBCEA HEALTH BENEFIT PROGRAM
The MBCEA Health Benefit Program is administered through the MBCEA Group Benefit Trust, a non-profit Trust which is fully insured by Lloyds of London. This program offers MBCEA members access to comprehensive group health benefits including medical, dental, and vision benefits at rates that will save many MBCEA members 10-15% compared to similar benefits from commercial health insurers. Features of the program include:
- Four flexible plan designs with choice of deductibles, co-pays, prescription benefits, and other features so that you can customize a plan to suit your employee’s unique needs.
- Members with 10 or more participating employees can offer two different plan options for their employees to choose from.
- Each employer has the choice of several national PPO networks or over 60 regional provider networks to ensure the best doctors and hospitals are available under your plan.
- All MBCEA members with 2 or more employees are eligible to participate (both contractors and industry members).
For more information or a no-obligation quote for your group, please call a licensed MBCEA Benefit consultant toll-free at (866) 641-8981, or visit the MBCEA Health Benefit website at www.MBCEA-Benefits.com.

MBCEA PEER GROUP PROGRAM
The MBCEA Peer Group Committee is assembling peer groups and wants to know who is interested in participating. All MBCEA members are eligible to participate.
Benefits of Peer Groups:
- Opportunity to learn and grow with other contractors similar to you.
- Compare your systems and processes with others who do not compete with you.
- Develop Best Practices with other contractors similar to you.
- Improve efficiencies and profits by learning from others.
- Opportunity to be a mentor and find someone to mentor you. We all have things to teach and to learn from one another.
- Solve specific problems in your company by getting advice from people who have had those problems.
- Develop your leadership skills and the skills of your people.
The first Peer Group meeting is scheduled to meet the week of the MBCEA Conference in September in Indianapolis. Participants will complete questionnaires that will be used to match you with a group of your peers (not competitors). The focus of the Peer Group Program is to help companies improve profits through the experiences of others, develop better systems in your company, help you have more fun in business. All who participate should come away with opportunities for improvement within their own company.
If you are interested in participating in the Peer Group Program, please respond by emailing Angela Cruse at Angela@MBCEA.org by August 1st. We will contact interested parties prior to the September meeting to collect information that will help provide meaningful information for discussion at the first Peer Group meeting. Costs for the September Peer Group meeting will be approximately $500 per company, plus meals and lodging. This will be used for facilitators, meeting rooms, and preparation expense.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Barry Zepp or Angela Cruse.
